United Bus Technology begins the process of spooling back up after COVID-19 slowdown..

 In News

United Bus Technology, a solutions company focused on the needs of the motorcoach industry in North America, is beginning to spool their McClean Virginia operation up following the shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are beginning to see the signs that the industry is starting to move. We know it will be slow at first, but we also know that many of our customers are going to need the support we offer as they begin to put buses back on the road.” Said Tony Wei, the CEO of the company.

“We know the situation continues to evolve, but we want our customers and future customers to know that we are here to help as they move towards recovery.” He continued.

Like many companies, the restart will look different than it did when things came to a sudden stop at the beginning of March. UBT has been forced to pair down significantly, keeping those that are key to the day to day operations.

“Things will look a little different as we move towards the new normal” Jun Wang, VP of Operations said when asked about the restart.

“We are excited to get back at it and continue to help our customers make money, something we know will be very important moving forward” he continued.

Chris Riddell, the company president will assume a different role during the restart, stepping down from the day to day operational role as president and assuming an advisory role as a member of the board of directors.

“I have a great deal of confidence in UBT and their future in the industry. As a shareholder in the company, I want them to be successful and to achieve all that they have set out to do. Stepping into the role as a board member will allow me to continue to participate in their success and still allow me to grow my own company and pursue other opportunities.” Riddell said.

His company, Deliverabilites, will also continue to offer support from a marketing and strategic standpoint for UBT and its product lines.

UBT was an industry leader during the onset of the virus in eliminating ongoing billing to customers and is currently working with those customers who are beginning to restart their services.

They will continue to offer the most complete bus ticketing solution on the market, as well as their suite of onboard technology including WiFi, Movies, and vehicle tracking, and their ELD product, through their website and a reduced version of their sales team. They also continue to provide technology support and management for BusRates.com in partnership with the United Motorcoach Association.
